There’s a good chance you haven’t heard of Hozier quite yet but everyone’s buzzing about him! Born Andrew Hozier Byrne on St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland, the emerging singer-songwriter was raised on rhythm and blues, soul, jazz and the deep dark stuff stretching from Chicago to the Delta. Hozier’s first release is a the 4 song ‘Take Me To Church’ EP that you can listen and download for free below! Hozier played all the instruments (Fiachra Kinder helped out on drums), sang all the parts and recorded at home. Rob Kirwan (Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey) mixed the tracks in Dublin.
Hozier’s first music video, “Take Me to Church” from his EP of the same name is sadly gorgeous and unique! He’s carving out his own niche in the musical landscape creating a sound all his own.
